History of Arjuna Temple Dieng

The Arjuna Temple Complex was first discovered in 1814 by a British Soldier, Van Kinsbergen. When I visited this place, Arjuna Temple was still in the renovation phase because it was age-old. At the time of it's discovery, the condition of the temple was not as good as it is now, but, it is still look apprehensive. The reason of that condition was because when the time of temple discovered, the Arjuna Temple is still submerged by the swamp. This drying process of the swamp has only been carried out after 40 years since it was discovered.

Although it was officially inaugurated by the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Jero Wacik, on July 28, 2008, the temple began to be visited and started to be developed as a tourist attraction in 2010, and managed by the Government of Banjarnegara and assisted by the goup that has a concern about tourism, Kelompok Sadar Wisata (Pokdarwis).
